Good reputation from ratings, long history, good standing. What could go wrong? Depending on the product you buy, a lot. Thanks to a customer of his with a 10-19 S1000RR, we got to test the final product on the dyno.
(2023 Update): Because of this site, he's changed his name on eBay to bmwhp_388
RCK is BMW's "Race Calibration Kit". Floyd asks that you send in your cluster, immobilizer, and ECU. Usually this requires a bit of technical knowledge but okay, still on board with the process. Now to ship these parts off to his PO BOX in Texas. Expensive stuff to ship to a PO but alright.
While your bike stays at home and unable to use, Floyd gets to work installing RCK then ships all the parts back. We can confirm that Floyd did receive and ship the parts back. No swapping or anything. Now to see the results!
First the parts were installed, adaptions reset, bike was warmed up, put on the dyno, and was ran until it repeated a number. The number was 174whp. Now this isn't the important part. All dynos read different. The important part came when we reflashed the ECU to stock, reset adaptations, ran on the dyno until same temp as before until it repeated a number. Here's the sad part, the OEM stock flash gained 10whp more than Floyd's RCK flash that has his custom tuning. Almost $800 to lose 10whp...
Not only will RCK be enabled and therefore void any warranty but it will also have a mismatched mileage code, which is a HUGE red flag at BMW. It's basically suspected as theft and will have a permanent code for mismatched mileage between the cluster and the ECU. The VIN will also be mismatched because Floyd doesn't use legitimate RCK. It's a hack version he slams into the ECU. If BMW sees something like this they will definitely have some questions about how you used their proprietary tuning software without a license and why your VIN and mileage are mismatched.
It will cost $760 for the privilege of losing power. BTW Floyd is Lloyd as we posted before. He goes by MANY names. Buyer beware!
Floyd is up to his usual antics. Now charging $2000 for an ecu that's worth half that amount at a dealership. But wait, there's more. You also get two keys and an immobilizer (or it won't work at all). Shipping doesn't sound like a great deal either if you're in the US at all. Which is the funny part because this is a euro cloned ECU. Meaning it's simply a euro file on this ecu. Anyone that
Here's the description for the product on eBay. Let's take this point by point.
-Yes, this flash will elimiate the "dead spot" on US motorcycles but if this went on any other motorcycle they would feel no difference as it's just a OEM euro file.
-No, there is no custom tuning he has for full exhaust or any modified exhaust. This is seen when 650ib tried his flash and the bike shut down on cold sta
